We used to love this hookah bar, and made a reservation for a party of 20 about a week and a half in advance. When we got there, they claimed to have never gotten the reservation, but happened to have a reservation for another party of 16. They wound up giving us the other reservation, and kicking out the other party. The waitress gave us the evil eye for the rest of the night. The service has been slow before, but it was especially poor. Our waiter was beyond inattentive. Throughout the night, more than one person had to wait over an hour for a drink, and even longer for food. The excuse for the delayed food was that the kitchen was backed up, but when the food came out, it was cold. At the beginning of the night, it was rather crowded, but around 12 the place was cleared out, and the staff was sitting at a table ignoring all of the customers. Many people walked in, sat down, and walked out a half hour later without ever talking to a member of the wait staff. We got the bill about 45 minutes after we asked for it, and decided that we didn't want to leave the added 18% gratuity. We left about 10% on a $300. bill (all paid in cash), which we felt was still too much. Around 2 am, a voicemail was left by our waiter on the phone from which the reservation was allegedly not made saying, "mature of you to not answer your phone. don't come out if you don't have the money." The only conclusion we can draw from this, is that there was actually a reservation, or he searched through a week's worth of phone records in order to call us.

Although I was intimidated when we show that the place wasn't that full - It turned out to work for our advantage. Service was great, food was good and came out really fast and was not bad at all. though I don't smoke cigarettes I loved their hokkas - If you don't know what it is - Try it...

We really liked this place - the atmosphere, the food - but we're not accustomed to paying so much for beans. I am a huge fan of middle eastern food, and I'm used to getting a very nice vegetarian mezze that's enough for two for $10 or so. This is a great date place, but it's too expensive for your ordinary night out with friends.

Fantastic middle eastern food. Unique entrees and appetizers. All worked really well at our dinner. I highly recommend the chicken dumplings = kippeh.
