Reading what the last person I had to say was they must be crazy. i have been to Square 1682 many times and have always had the best service. If you are going to eat at 10 15 you are right there will be a crowd. The prices are just right there is a price for everyone, if you want to spend a little or alot you have your choices. I have never had service any other place in Philadelphia like I have had at square 1682. if you want good food, good drinks and good service, Square 1682 is the place to be.

I was recently staying in Philadelphia with my boyfriend for a special getaway weekend. We had reservations for a late dinner at 10:15. Our table wasn't ready for about a half hour so we got drinks at the bar. (I will say that the bar tender was very helpful with wine selections.) We were seated at a very crowded and uncomfortable seat, when there were several open tables available. It took our waitress about 30 minutes to take our order. We wanted to start with an appetizer and potentially order more food as the evening went on. All appetizer selections were about $8-$10, and we selected a seafood platter, which was described as including shrimp, crab and oysters. It was listed as "Market Price". We told our waitress that we wanted to order this as an appetizer and get more food later. She never mentioned how large the platter was or the price. When we ordered, my boyfriend ordered another glass of wine. It took about 45 minutes for te platter to arrive and when it did, it was HUGE. None of the crab legs were pre-cut and we had to get messy opening them to eat. This would be fine for a seafood restaurant, but not what we expected from how this was described in the menu. We were not very happy with the platter and just asked for the check. We were BLOWN AWAY to see that the bill for our meal was $160, when all we eat were 4 shirmp, 3 oysters and crab legs. If a menu item is this much more expensive than everything else on the menu, this should be explained to customers upfront. AFTER we got the check, the glass of wine was recieved and listed on the check. (Almost a hour after ordering it.) We spoke with the manager and his initial solution was to offer us free appetizers, even though we don't even live in Pennsylvania. We did end up getting a reduction in the bill, but the combination of poor service and mediocre food is not worth it at all.
