    American and Ukrainian review

As one Ukrainian and one American, we both thought that the food was authentic, down home Russian cooking like Mama would make it. Our waitress was lovely and gave great service. This place is a definite come back. We drove 2 hours to get there, but it was totally worth it. BTW, try the authentic Ukrainian dessert: cherry stuffed vareniki. This is not found in many Russian restaurants.

    Absolutely fantastic

What a great place! I went there with my mother who is 98! Upon seeing her walking with her walker both waitresses came out and helped her inside. The food was excellent and the Russian bread was to die for! We had Chicken Kiev, Beef Stroganoff, Mushroom Soup, Borscht and even dessert for only 35 bucks. Thats total not each, by the way. The food was amazing and the place is so clean you could eat off the floor. Julia was our server and she rocks and speaks English better than most Americans.

    I am so SATISFIED

I have no complain at all. I and my boyfriend went to many NYC high end Russian Restaurants. We are not satisfy those high end rest. because they maybe cook for American and modify to be high end taste. Btu when we had this Russian foods this is real local Russian foods. I think Russian is very healthy/ Light salt and not Oily... Soup was GREAT taste and it was HUGE portion, but price is less than $4.00. Taste was BIG SMILE! Ravioli was very light taste and good. I can keep eating whole day due to not salty and oily. I had Rabbit. WOW. WOW. IT was so tender and sauce was superb. Price is CHEAP with this quality and taste. My boyfriend had Lam. It was small portion and kind of less quality but again sauce was Superb! I highly recommend this Restraint! We live in N. NJ but we can go back again!!

    Great Authentic Russian Food

I wanted to try Russian food, so my family and I went to Stolovaya. The service and food were great, and the restauraunt itself was very clean. I would definently reccomend the borsch. If you do go to Stolovaya, make sure you know Russian lettering because the sign is in Russian. Stolovaya is also in a good Russian location. There is a Russian market and movie/book store next to it, and if you drive down the road a little more there is a Russian souvenir store named Kneezhneek, also a Russian sign, in Bell's Corner. Stolovaya is probably the best Russian restauraunt in central PA.

I had a guest from out of town that requested eating at a Russian restaurant that served authentic Russian food. If this is the request then this is the spot located in NE Philadelphia. It was BYOB, the service was great, the food delicious and the price was right. It got all thumbs up from our table.

    Russian food

Stolovaya is probably the best choice if you just want to try Russian food. They are always open and never crowded. Interior and service aren't the best, but prices are low. No need to dress up or reserve a party.

    restaurant simplicity; russian style

I have been there 2 times;both enjoyable. The atmosphere is not made to be very fancy, because the nature of a stolovaya is good home cooking, short time visit, and your on your way. It's not fast food & it's not a night out to impress your date (partner). It's much like the american diner. I ordered stuffed cabbage and it was just how my grandmother made (she was polish). Also had a pint bottle of kvas (non alcohol fermented drink (similar to rootbeer but not as sweet). You can read the menu in russian or english. It is not very large place so you CAN HAVE SOME COSINESS but it's not intimate. What was ordered for 2 people cost $21.50 incl.tx and tip. Certainly could go lower or higher in price, but we were very satisfied.
