This is an over rated pie
The crust was burnt, the tomatoe used was a cheap quality and the cheese was even cheeper. You must be kidding. This 12 inch pie is a poor excuse for a quick cooking potato chip. Never again.

Pizza not worth the poor service
Service is unfriendly at best. If you love the pizza, try going to Taconelli's in Moorestown, NJ. Same or better pizza and FAR better service.

Absurdly overrated
I happen to love garlic. But Tacconelli's pizza was about 1,000% too garlicky for me. And it wasn't even a good, fresh garlic, or a reasonably roasted one. It was smoky and overwhelming, and together with the burnt crust, basically made the pie inedible. As for ambience, the place isn't particularly inviting, and the snobbery with the dough reservation is unbelievable. Someone else paid, so I can't speak to value, but I will say that the service was rather slow.

After 5 months abroad, this was my first meal once I got home.
I always come here when I've been away from home for a while (college breaks, study abroad, etc) because it reminds me of how good pizza is supposed to be. I've been coming here since i was 7, so that's about 17 years. The pizza is amazing. The decor leaves a lot to be desired, but the food makes up for that. This place is simple, but sometimes simplicity is best. The servers are not pretentious, the food is always great. The only downfall would be the lack of neighborhood parking, but that's Philly for you. Make sure you call-- you need to make reservations!

Good God this pizza is good
I live in Brooklyn and have sampled many of NYC's famed pizzas and Tacconelli's is the best pizza I've had. The atmosphere is simple the service is friendly, if a bit slow, but that's not the reason to come here. It's for the pizza. Excellent crust, delicious sauce, great portioning of cheese and toppings. A one of a kind pie.

Service Issues
You have to call in the morning of the you want to order. They dictate, much like the soup nazi from Seinfield, what and when you can order. "Sausage? Oh that will be 5:45 instead of 5:00." "I'm sorry we don't make a red pie with spinach and tomato. You can have a white with spinach and tomato." When we cancelled one in our party, we were met with ugly stares, and horrific confusion.... It's one less person, not the end of the world! Ok, so their pizza is great. As long as you eat it there. And I wouldnt say the ambiance is all that good.
