our favorite place in the area
My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. And we are Mexican food snobs (I lived there for a few years and know my tacos etc). The aguas frescas (jamaica and horchata) are delicious. The tacos, with their double tortillas and perfectly spiced meats, are super good (though I always ask for extra lime to squeeze on top and prefer the meat to the fish tacos which could use a little more flavor). The pozole (a hominy stew) is great on a cold night. If you like authentic Mexican food, you should go. Now. We were gonna cook at home tonite, but I think now, after writing this, we are headed to Taco Riendo....

Best Plaun in Philly!
I love this place. I ate there 2 times in one day and had 2 servings of flaun in 1 visit! A little stand-offish at first, but warmed up quickly. I was not a local, but by the second visit within 5 or so hours, I was treated just like one of the family. A wonderful, colorful "flavor" as an entry way into the neighborhood. Thank you.

a philly favorite!
this is one of my favorite places to get awesome, fresh food for the cheap prices. this is authentic mexican....if you want something drenched in melted cheddar cheese, go to on the border! the staff is sweet and makes everything to order. and to top it all off, it's a BYO, so you can bring a beer to have with your tacos. plus, you order at a counter so you don't even have to tip. a great value and great food! cash only, warning!

Too expensive
I feel exploited. $3 for a tablespoon side of guacamole? its a tacqueria for ****'s sake! Don't they know this? I could forgive the dry meat and smaller portions if the prices were reasonable. Too expensive,Too bad.

Love it!
I'm so glad this place opened up in the neighborhood. Nice owners, and although the food is not spectacular it's definitely one of the best taquerias in the city.
