    Why these places are important

This is a cozy corner South Phila, girard Estates places that shows an effort by Owners and Chef to do something high quality , unique, and thoughtful. From the beer selection to the menu to the light fixtures to the specials, they are really making an effort to have a place that you can just stop into for a quick brew or bring friends for a little informal good food .

Kind of a sleeper (in a good way)

We weren't sure what to think of this place when we walked in. The menu looked fantastic. When we got there at 6:30 it was almost totally empty so we weren't sure if people knew something we didn't. Well, the food was excellent, the barmaid/waitress was great and it was a clean and nice looking place in all respects. People started coming in around 7:15 and then there was some atmosphere to it. We all had great meals. The steak salad was awesome and hubby said the pork sandwich was excellent as well. Everything was affordable and the portions were spot on. Damn near perfect meal.

open that upstairs room more often

I have found the food here consistently good. The crab fries actually have real crab meat, not a sprinkle of old bay seasoning. Great grilled chicken sandwich. The upstairs is only open on Friday nights. The downstairs is too noisy for couples. Solution--open that upstairs through the weekend!

Don't be stingy with the old bay!

We enjoyed ourselves Saturday night with delicious CBfries that required way more bay seasoning for our taste. The cheesesteak spring rolls required a second helping and the fish tacos would have been better if fish was not breaded & fried. Needed a much more attentive bar server, Tap Room is leaving $ in our pockets if she's not serving quickly! We'd give it another try.

Fun place, Good Grub, Decent Beer

First the food is great. Chefs hang out and are cool, pretty much will make you whatever if its not too busy. Price is right for the quality- you'd be hard pressed to get this much Filet for 11 bucks, plus its cooked to order, always spot on. Beer is cold, selection is OK. I like that they seem to change up the taps often. Small place that's busy at dinner and late nite, and a real casual neighboorhood vibe- that is a good thing. TVs are huge and plenty, and Pool table is nice, not too many around. Bartenders are nice enough, and the food comes out fast and hot, sometimes a few plates at a time. I hear outdoor seating is on its way, and an upstairs Dinning Room & Bar are almost finished.

    GREAT FOOD under $15.00

This place has a great casual vibe. Food is tasty and affordable (hooray). The bar crowd is mixed w/ the young, old & is family friendly . Steak salad is one of my favorites. Mussels Fab too. (FYI) GUYS it has a pool table and 5 Flat Screens to boot. Great place to meet up w/ friends.
