Thai Singha House

We ordered a number of trays from Thai Singha for a party. Tom took excellent care of us--we couldn't have asked for more. And the food was delicious--we got rave reviews for our party and so now we're giving a rave review back!

We have eaten here numerous times and love it. We've tried a variety of food items and drive some distance to eat here. Service has always been pleasant and timely. Highly recommended!

I went there for lunch with a friend, and we both got the lunch special - soup, appetizer, and entree for $9. The soup was fine, small bowls but we were getting 3 courses. My coconut vegetable soup had cilantro in it, and was too sweet and salty. Appetizer for me was fried tofu, 4 little triangles of tofu plus dipping sauce. My friend got dumplings, which was a tiny portion. I got the vegetable pad thai, which was kind of greasy but tasted fine. She had the "basil" shrimp and ordered it "level 2", which was far too spicy. She ended up drinking 3 glasses of water and not finishing half her food, which is not like her! The good thing in my view was how quickly the courses came out. They gave us the next course just as we finished the previous, which is great when you've got to get back to work.

I have never had a problem with service and I've been here many times...the waitstaff is courteous, diligent, and observant. The food is very good quality and the value is excellent. The ambiance is not as nice as it could be, but it seems to have improved from when I first started going here. Really great Thai restaurant, of which Philly does not have many!

The food is good. Unfortunately some of their waiters are rude. My husband and I went one evening when they were getting ready to close. When we asked if it was still okay to eat they said yes, but rushed us through the entire meal! I was so upset that I paid my bill, but didn't leave a tip. After walking out the door the waiter just about chased me down to get the tip I didn't leave. I haven't gone back since. And it's a shame since I love the shrimp rolls!

The waitstaff is very rude and all they wanted to do was rush us out of the restaurant. They would not let us order dessert because the kitchen was "closed" after we had spent alot of money on drinks and dinner. They did not warn us that the kitchen was going to close, which they should have done. The experience was unpleasant and I won't be back.

The atmosphere is good, but it doesn't even matter because the food is just really amazing, the best university city. I go there as often as possible.
