Best in the city
This place hands down has some of the best Irish cuisine in Philadelphia. The Irish stew is amazing(nice touch with the white beans), shepherds pie delicious, and I havent had this good of fish and chips since I was in England! The pints of Guinness were poured properly. The service staff was super attentive and friendly.

I loved this place!
We had early dinner reservations, so I can't speak for the night life, but I enjoyed every bit of my birthday dinner at The Bards! The food was great and the service was wonderful! The waitress was attentive to all of our needs and I found this place to be clean and tidy. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted a nice time and a great meal without the pretentiousness of many of the center city restaurants!

Great food, quaint old world atmosphere
Considering the previous poor review, I can imagine Bards night life would unfortunately get the "d.b." spill over from the much larger Irish Pub two doors down. In spite of this, I fell in love with this pub! From the cute, old world decor to the kick ass goat cheese salad I had and the equally delicious shepard's pie my boyfriend ordered, I left with a full stomach and a buzz. I would definitely recommend this place for dinner to anyone. They had enough veggie options to support the vegetarians, but vegans should probably steer clear unless you are looking for a pretty good draught list, including Guinness and Smithwicks.

Uhg
This is just simply another college dump bar. The bathrooms are disgusting and it seems as though food is only offered to soak up the excessive alcohol served to the frat boy type that frequent. The bartenders are rude and slow and tend to be excessively overserving the college kids that can't seem to keep their hands off of women. The trash that seems to pile up out front of the place blends perfectly with the smokers outside the front door. I would never waste my time in this dump again!
