Poor customer service. My evening was totally ruined by the way people in this restaurant treat their customers. First of all, our table was ignored with delays in our order and we had to ask them even to get papad, chutney or even water for that matter. To top the matter, they served me a Vegetarian Biryani with a piece of chicken in it. When I called the Manager of the restaurant and showed him the chicken piece, he apologized and so I decided to leave the matter there itself refusing his offer to make me another order of Veg Biryani. Then out of the blue he asks me if I put the piece of chicken in my plate and trying to a scene there. With such a response, I was taken aback and asked him if he was really meaning what I heard and he goes on telling me that if I a scene there, he would call someone (cops I assumed) and complain against me! This is totally outrageous. First of all, he should be thankful to me for not making any trouble for the piece of chicken he put in my vegetarian meal, but he comes back and tells me he would complain against me! I have never seen such a treatement ever anywhere in the world. This place is definitely out my list of places to have good Indian food and I highly recommend anyone from going here to think twice before going there.

I have tried a lot of restaurants in New york, New Jersey, Philadelphia. This isone of the best restaurant and the lunch buffet especially on the weekends is mindblowing. And don't forget to try the Hyderabadi special Biryani (Chicken/ Goat) and Chicken65 dishes. It also serves good south Indian vegetarian dishes.

We were happy to discover this new authentic Indian restaurant in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center. It's definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area...and we've been to ALL of them. Great food & great service. You know it's good when 80% of the customers are Indian;-) Keep up the good work!! Recommended Dishes: Bawarchi Chicken salad, Lamb Vindaloo, Bawarchi Naan, Raita, Mango Lassi, Gulab Jamun, & Bawarchi Special Tea

I found Bawarchi online and after reading the great review, decided to try it out. I was not disappointed! The food was amazing, and although it was basically in a strip mall, the inside of the restaurant was very nice. The menu was very interesting as well. It had all of the traditional meals, but also offered interesting additions including Chinese dishes with an Indian twist. This may be good if you are trying to sell some reluctant friends on Indian food :)

I have been working for hospitality industry for almost 8yrs in the US. I have tried almost all the resturants in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.. But I rate the quality of food at Barwarchi as just amazing. Being a hotel mangagment student, I predict this resturant is gonna be tops in Philly in one or two years if they maintain the same quality of food.
