southern accent food in an old time bar
atmosphere: medium sized bar and restaurant rooms were dark and lit with light strings and candles, a tin ceiling, wood floor, older furniture and many beer posters and menu chalkboards lent and old time feel, small buckets with napkins and wet wipes (a great idea) were placed on the tables, a 5 piece brass band played jauntily in front of the place and sometimes noisily in the bar, madi gras (which day it was) beads were given away. small restrooms were hard to get at past the crowded bar. service: the three servers were well paced and helpful but were challenged when the dining room reached full capacity. food: the vegan seitan pulled pork was agreeably firm with a ketchup and vinegar flavors, the wonderful BBQ beans were dark with molasses and bacon peices, the bread pudding with chocolate and pecans was not as sweet as others I have had, the beer had a fruity note as described on the extensive detailed paper beer menu.

Great for Vegans!
This place is AWESOME for vegans. I love finding new restaurants/bars/gastropubs around the city that have expanded their menus to include really great vegan items, and Kyber Pass Pub certainly has succeeded in their attempt to expand their menu to a new market. All of the items on the menu are VERY clearly labeled as to whether they are vegetarian (with dairy or eggs) or vegan, so there is absolutely no confusion when I am looking for vegan items. And they have great selections like a Vegan BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, Vegan Fried Chicken Po'Boy, or Vegan Cole Slaw. It is also great to see that the batter and frying oil for the fries and onion rings are all vegan as well, as clearly denoted by their menu. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Good food; good beer
The food here is really good and there is enough variety to please many different tastes including vegetarians Great hamburgers and Cajun hot sausage po'boys. My husband really liked the brisket. No body can beat the mac and cheese that is served here. The beer selection is really interesting and the on-tap choices change frequently. Even people very knowledgeable beer can find interesting selections. The service is really good. The servers are efficient and helpful and willing to answer questions about both the food and the beer. It gets a little loud especially on a Saturday night but it just adds to the atmosphere. This is really a good place for a casual meal.

Very Nice Addition To Old City!
I was heartbroken when I heard the Khyber was going out, but delighted when I visited the new resteraunt. Great pulled pork, good southern-style slaw as well. The Cajun ceaser salad was an excellent twist on the classic. The interior is very nicely decorated as well! Try it!
