    Don't waste your time

The Witch was extremely disappointing for Sunday brunch. Although we had a reservation, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes to be seated. The service was poor and slow and our waitress couldn’t have been more disinterested in us. We had to ask for certain things several times (silverware, syrup for the pancakes, refills on water/coffee) before acutally getting them. The food was okay — not the worst but certainly not the best, although the potatoes were so burnt that they were black. There was literally soot on the serving plate. Maybe dinner is better, but sadly, we won’t be going back to find out.

    Loved it!

I really enjoyed myself! I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the I really enjoyed myself! I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the Pork Chop which was fantastic! It was so flavorful! I am guessing from some of the reviews that this place "hits and misses". I don't know what to say. I guess it’s really depends on what you might order. On WED they have extra steak dishes which I love but that might not be for everyone. I am going back I know that much!

    Amazing

I went to the Witch on two Tuesdays in a row tasted about 8 different dishes from the $20. special. Everything was amazing. There was nothing that didn't taste unique. I'd go again this week to but I'll be out of town. The service was good. The place is beautiful and clean. I had one complaint. They had nothing that absorbs sound. So when it's busy it's very loud. I hope they stay around a long time. I'm happy to put my name on the review.

    Disappointing and Skimpy

Had brunch at the Witch recently - skimpy and disappointing. The only worthwhile experience was the bloody mary bar. This place could be a gem - with a little more attention in the kitchen. Certainly did not get what you paid for. Will give it one more try against my better judgment.

    Dissapointing

Last night a group of 5 went to dinner @ The Witch for the Tuesday pre fixed menu. What a dissapointment. We didn't expect large portions but the size of the portions were for a toddler. The tomatoe salad was 4 super thin slices of tomatoe with tons of chives & basil that must have cost 10 cents to put together. Second course was a tiny onion & bacon tart in a puff pastry that was so dry there was no taste of bacon or bacon in it at all. The small portion of sea bass & mashed potatoes was good. The shrimp scampy was so small the pasta was about 3 turns of the fork. The tiny apple tart dessert came in the same puffed dry pastry as the onion tart-there was hardly anything in it to say it was an apple tart. I hope the regular menu is better than the pre fixed. I will try this place one more time for the regular menu which looks pretty good. I don't know if it was an off night for them but I would't try The Witch again on a Tuesday for the pre fixed menu. Not even worth the $20.00. I hope the owner reads this review because this place could be a gem.

South Philly gal enjoys the restaurant

The previous reviewer must have been in a coma....and is just plain mean. I appreciate a good review, even if negative, but this was just thoughtless and silly. I have been there probably 6 times since its opening. The food is great; service is great. It is not "rushed" service - I appreciate this - but attentive service. I order something different every time including daily specials. I have never been disappointed with the food and enjoy the unique combination of flavors.

You'll want to tap your shoes and hope it disappears.

I live in the neighborhood and always hope that good restaurants will move in. This was my second time visiting the restaurant in hopes that the food would be better. We waited over 45min for our food, the waiter disappeared for most of the night. When our food arrived it was tasteless and the scallops were still frozen. The cook should be embarassed. There were only 3 tables full in the whole place. Not going back.
