Three Monkeys Cafe

I began frequenting Monkeys @2 years ago with my boyfriend. We have been there everytime of the day almost everyday of the week (no we are nto alcoholics), throughout every season. I am not nor was I ever employed by the bar however I have worked in some. By far, and also growing up in this area ( G & A), this bar is by far one of the best attractions Northeast Philly has to offer. I mean this for all age groups too...I took my mother here for her birthday and often see men & women of retirement age enjoying a drink and a meal It's also not odd to see an entire family come in at anytime any day/night of the week. As far as kids are concerned, I would not recommend bringing them on a busy weekend night however I have seen infants to teenagers coem in and they admire how detailed and well docrated the bar has been done. The staff always welcomes clientele, no matter what age or where they are from. If you love where you grew up from all the way down in Port Richmond and up to Bensalem, show your support to some good local business people who have made something wonderful in the area. It will be worth your trip and worth your while! Even for the singles, the bar offers pleanty of good times. You can watch a game, check out some eye candy & in the summer enjoy a band outside. It's a nice place to meet up and most of the time once you're there and start mingling you don't want to leave!

You can't find another bar in the Northeast like this. The interior is insane - attention to every detail down to the pics of old time Philly. The crabcakes and Monkeytini's are awesome, and the courtyard outside is comfortable and relaxing. Great place to watch any sporting event, or just a chill lunch. No, I don't own the bar - I'm just a fan. Good times to be had at this place.

They need a cook who does not burn things.

I went a week ago with the girls and had a nice time. I took my boyfriend this Sunday and had an even better time. Outside seating is in a great cozy enviroment and the change of scene is just what we needed. The crab dip is out of this world! We also had lunch. My burger was okay. I wanted it cooked medium and it was well done but this happens at most places I go to. My boyfriend got a cheesesteak and it was delicious. I had a martini and the price was reasonable for the size. We also had the carrot cake for desert and it was delicious! I am going back next Sunday for the live entertainment!

Went there last Sunday. It was a beautiful day and we went there for breakfast We sat outside because of the atmosphere which is very pleasant. I asked for eggs over lite. They were too well done. The home fries were from a frozen package of potatoes and the rye toast was very hard and cold by the time I got it. The best part was our coffee glasses were dirty looking. (I sure hope they weren't dirty. I asked the waitress about them and she said they were stained. They either need a new dishwasher or (as my husband suggested) throw them away and buy new glasses for coffee. I'm sure they have a good bar business but if they want people to come back to eat, I suggest getting a new chef.

Having had breakfast and lunch there I have to say that we have never been disappointed. There are times when the bread in the mornings has been a bit hard but that could be the type of bread that they use. I have had lunch (Ceaser Wrap) that was accompanied by a nice spring salad and it was delicious. And I have also had the home made potato chips and they were good. The atmosphere in the place is very comfortable and the wait staff is great. They are always ready and eager to serve you. There are always a number of people there on the weekends so a lot of people realize it is a great little jewel in the Northeast and I hope it is there for many years to come.
