5 Stars Across The Board
This is the among the best sushi and hibachi I ever had. The people there are so nice and very tentative. The service is always great. No complaints. I live close by and I mostly order out but have eaten there as well. I love their takeout because the food is always packaged perfect and they never forget anything. Plus, every time you go you get your menu stamped and once you get 5 stamps of $20, $30, $40, $50, & $60, you get a $25 gift certificate that you can use on your next order. Each stamp stands for how much you paid and sometimes you can get two at once because the $50 may already be stamped so they'll stamp $20 & $30. It's great because I eat there often and it's a nice little bonus. 5 stars across the board!!

pretty good
I went there yesterday first time, the food is really good, we had Avocado blossom and cani salad for appetizers, it was delish! then we had some sushi forgot the names. must try their Fried Green Tea Ice Cream - the best!! over all the place is nice, service could be little better. will go there again :)

Subpar, Expensive
I was so disappointed with the place. We ordered a calamari appetizer for $7.50 and there were exactly 6 rings of frozen premade calamari rings. What a ripoff! My husband ordered a sushi platter for 1 . I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken so that I could share with my 19 month old baby. My chicken tasted like it was boiled and smothered with some teriyaki sauce. I complained to the waitress and the manager came over and took it back to remake. They brought out the same piece of chicken and threw it on the grill and smothered it with sauce again, because that chicken was so tough and overcooked and the waitress never came with my rice that came with the dish. I didn't eat my tough chicken and left very disappointed. The place is overpriced for fake Japanese food run by Chinese people who know nothing about Japanese food. It is very very disappointing, do not bother to waste your money on this place!

Excellent & Fun
3 of us stopped in to the Hibachi side of the restaurant & lucked out with sharing the table with a nice group of strangers. Nice food prep and plenty of it. We had all varities & everything was excellent. Filet mignon was the best. Even fresh made fried rice was to notch. Servers was really friendly. We are coming back.

Mediocre...
The sushi at To-Kai embodies mediocrity. I gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt on two separate occasions and both times I was disappointed by a stringy, grainy tuna that any respectable restaurant would be embarrassed to serve. I've dabbled in many of the Japanese restaurants in the Northeast area, and as someone who prides himself in good Japanese, this is not it. Also, for those who have been to ToYo on Bustleton and enjoyed their experience, you should know that this is not the same owner despite their claims. Conveniently similar name though, no? That's because they ripped off the original. If location is all that matters, by all means go to To-Kai, otherwise I'd personally suggest a less expensive, better tasting meal down the street at the original.

Best Sushi
I've eaten A LOT of sushi from most of the northeast and center city sushi places and I have yet to find a place that constantly delivers the same great, fresh, unique to their restaurant sushi. The sushi is slightly sweeter, unbelievably fresh, and flavorful unlike some of the other blah, half price or expensive for no apparent reason places. I am never disappointed.

Best restaurant in Philly!!
Yesterday was my first time going to this restaurant it was amazing. We called for reservations about 7:30 hoping to get a reservation with luck we did; considering it was last minute. As soon as we got there we were seated for dinner within 5 minutes. The staff was very friendly and our chef was amazing. The food you order was givin in big portions. As he prepared the food the chef was doing tricks created Huge flames shooting sake into everyone mouths it was amazing 5 stars if you ask me. I will be going back again and again.
