poor poor
Went there for my husbands 35th birthday. Sat down, ordered crispy calamari, Aged NY Strip medium plus, side of potatoes, and chicken entree. Calamari arrived soon, tasted so so, pretty mediocre. The entrees arrived about 1 whole hour later! The steak was cool (not hot), it was also all soft, like it was boiled or sat somewhere under a lamp, and it tasted bad. I mean Applebees could have done this, not a $45+ steak. The chicken was hot but tasteless. Called manager, they were apologetic, offered another steak, but who wants to wait after being there 1.5 hours? told us it was comped, gave us free desert, bill came to be $35! What, they made us pay for the dinner sides. We still tipped another $20.

PRIME Dry aged steaks!
Sadly, I can no longer enjoy dry aged steaks after my experience at Union Trust. Their porterhouse and new york srtips were so intensely marbled, sweet, and nutty. My mouth is salivating just from the thought. I used to crave the steaks at Barclay, but I was blown away by how rich this stuff was.

food doesn't begin to match the prices
Unlike the other reviewers, I found the steak overpriced and just average. Maybe it's me, but I find eating inside a reconfigured bank 9even a majestic old bank) rather cold and offputting.

Most beautiful restaurant in the city
I love steakhouses and philly has too many chains that are frankly not so great as it's counterparts in other cities. This is not a chain! This is a terrific steakhouse (and I eat for a living) Went for our second wedding anniversary. I have never eaten in a more extravagant building. The restaurant is one large room, but I still felt it had a romantic feel. Our server was wonderful and when we asked for recommendations, they were spot on. He even told me that certain sides to start by trying and one that he could live without. I appreciated that suggestion in a waiter (because I would have ordered it). He brought a taste of it out to the table when our entrees arrived (he was right) I would go again and recommend to friends often when asking for a great steak restaurant in Philly. Favorite steakhouse in Philly

Fanastic Dinning Experience - it's more than just a meal!
We stumbled upon Union Trust by accident and it's the best accident I was ever involved in. Our lunch was incredibly tasty and the atmosphere is very beautiful and the music is great. The host and the servers were friendly and the lunch was delicious. My steak frites was the best I ever had and the creamed spinach is so worth it. Thanks for coming to Philadelphia.

An Amazing Experience
I have been to many steakhouses in Philadelphia but none have the complete lineup of top of line meats and seafood. The steaks at Union Trust are some of the best I've ever had (especially the bone in filet, order it medium rare). The oysters are out of this world and there are so many to choose from, the ones from Japan are truley special. The interior space is grand and beautiful with over 50 foot vaulted ceilings. I highly recommend Union Trust to anyone look for amazing steak and seafood. Although it is pricey, its well worth it.

definitely a different type of steakhouse
What a space! Found the whole open prep kitchen thing they had going on up front interesting. Finally, a place with a solid oyster selection and I would say some of best red meat I've had in the city. A little pricey but really unique
