Love this place - visit often
wife and i are foodies..go out to dinner at least 2-3 times/week..had been to morimoto (too pricey but great drinks, especially in the lounge), pod (great if your kids want to keep changing the lights in the pod), haru (why is that place still open?), etc. we were walking by uzu..and decided to stop in..and have been hooked ever since..we now go there (or takeout) at least once a week...the chef, Bo, is phenomenal..i have had the most awesome, most diverse varieties of sushi here. Cost - this place is cheap..compared to the quality of food you get. typically, we pay around $70-80 for 6-7 different things...at morimoto, we were used to shelling out $120!! so the prices at this place are similar to middle-tier sushi places..but again the quality is amazing. Place is small so good for a groups from 2-6...not at all good for kids....they arent typically very busy on weeknights after 8:30 - if you want to take a larger group my recommendation: order a couple things, and then have mimi (the hostess/waitress) ask the chef to make something special for you!

Good sushi
My wife and I tried this place recently and we were pretty satisfied with the food. They have a lot of nice variety with their rolls. The fish was fresh but the service was a little slow (probably a product of small sized staff - it is a really small place). There is an awful flat screen tv on one of the walls which definitely hurts the overall atmosphere in the place. Still, this is a place worth trying if you are sushi fan.

Best sushi in Philly
By far the best sushi restaurant I have found in Philly so far....and I have been searching for quite some time. I live right nearby so I go here all the time. Their service is always wonderful, it can take a little while but what cute tiny place that is run by a husband and wife doesn't.

Excellent sushi
Have been here twice and sushi was amazing both times. the rolls are creative and delicious - they do take a little while to make but are definitely worth the wait. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Prices not bad at all for level of quality. We'll definitely be back!

Don't underestimate the small guys
Don't plan on going witha large group, but do plan on having a great meal. By far the best I have been too. A bit slow, but it is all done with care and worth the wait.
