    server

I am not a very difficult person to please !! some good food , sincere service and nice ambiance is enough to please me. I visited verdad july of 2011 and it was very good. our server was kind of aggressive and short but ok, the food was great. My next visit was in november of 2011, my server was extremely arrogant, tried to take our order before the drinks even came and actually walked away from me and rolled his eyes!! I think verdad has some real potential but with a ameateur staff like this i wouldnt bet on this restaurant!!

The food's what's keeping them alive!

The food is fantastic, the tequila is varied, creative and fun...but wow, the service is poor! I've eaten there several times, never had a meal that wasn't great, but also never walked out of there without some complaint about the service. (I keep trying, but the service has never been better than mediocre). The hostesses have been rude and/or dismissive, the servers come across as untrained and unprepared to handle more than basic questions…our simple requests (“we have a movie to get to”) were met with blank stares and multiple requests to “hurry please.” The Main Line is in need of great places to eat but Verdad, please, please, please hire a manager who trains and manages the staff!

Paella to die for but the staff....not so much

We have been interested in this restaurant for quite a while because of the paella on the menu. We finally got around to coming tonight. The paella was everything we hoped for but the service staff dont know their own menu, they cant pronounce the names of items, they dont know their wines and their are miss represented items on the menu. It is no bargin even given the wonderful paella. The food is really good... but dont come for the service.

    Better Luck Somewhere Else

The food was pretty good, the atmosphere was pleasant and our server was attentive and courteous but the kitchen seemed to have been operating on a one-burner Coleman stove. We had a party of six and two people had to wait over an hour for their dinner. A truly incompetent performance. We won't be back.

    fair food, overpriced

My husband and I started with a pitcher of sangria that tasted like watered down peach schnapps. We shared 4 plates- tuna ceviche which was very good and nicely flavored, a black truffle flat bread, which had good earthy flavors, but the flatbread dough was a bit too chewy. We also shared a seafood diablo dish which consisted of fresh crab claws, shrimp and a jabenero/saffron broth. The broth was delicious, seafood was a touch overdone. The last dish we shared was a braised shortrib which was very well seasoned. As I expected with tappas the dishes were small, but because of this we felt the prices were a bit much. Both of our desserts, the flan and a 'chocolate taco' were mediocre. The chocolate taco was a stale corn tortilla dipped in dark chocolate with coconut icecream, only the icecream was edible. The flan was not sweet enough and with too much lavendar flavor. The waiter was not attentive enough.

    apps and drinks

We had apps and drinks. It was great fun to be outside upstairs on a lovely evening. The apps were top notch scrumptious!
