    thankyou, mr. garces

i was here on a saturday night at 5:00 to assure that my friends and i were to get a table. the restaurant is small, so seating is limited. we did wait about twenty minutes but were able to sit at the bar, sip our old fashioned's (that were absolutely smooth and delicious with big block ice cubes) and order the most flavorful tator tots i have ever eaten. (potato has never tasted so "potato-ey" to me) our bar server was so helpful and gave us tips on what drinks we would enjoy. my five-year-old daughter was with us and she was able to enjoy a shirley temple with house made grenadine. we all had burgers and were not disappointed. they were cooked to perfection and bursting with high quality flavor. i ordered mine with haystack mountain chevre. the duck fat french fries with sly fox-cheddar sauce was a perfect match with the sustainable farm-raised angus burger. i finished my meal with the caramel malt that was smooth and creamy with perfect sweetness. not mentioning the atmosphere here would be an oversight. it's cozy and warm and very "philadelphian". it made me glad that i live in a city that offers such good food with great service. i was very satisfied and can't wait to go back.

    Best. Burger. Ever.

Really, the best burger I've ever had. The food here is magical. Go. Or rather, don't go so there's more room for me.

    Great Garces Gourmet

I liked the food a lot. The quality of each food item served was above par and tasted really good. The pickeled carrots were fresh. The oysters were superb. The whipped ricotta was very smooth. The waiter messed up on the bill, but quickly corrected it. He did seem overwhelmed though. We sat at the bar o/wise there was an 1.5 hour wait which WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORTH IT, but since we were seated immediately at the bar the whole experience with the great food and chill atmosphere was perfect for a nice meal but not fancy night out! I would recommend this place to a friend.

    very good burgers

Food was delicious! We ordered the pickled cherry tomatoes, which were excellent, the veggie burger (best black bean burger I've had), and the village burger (boyfriend claims it to be the best burger he's had in town). The burgers do not come with fries, so we ordered them, but could barely finish. Great atmosphere and good drinks.

    Best Burger in Town

By far this place has the best burger in town. I think it's a travesty that TGIFs has a better rating than this place so I had to write. If you're looking for an incredible burger try this place, you will not be disappointed. Sit at the bar, the bartenders are more than helpful. Granted the place is new, and popular, so you may have to wait, but it'll be worth it.

    staff needs help

seated at 10:15, waited 15 minutes for a drink on a wednesday evening, 15 more to place an order although the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Ordered beets, duck fat fries, deviled eggs & the $24 Village burger w/ foie. The beet app was worth the price, as were the eggs. The fries encompassed maybe an entire potato, and at 50lbs for $40 wholesale, this is barely worth $2, let alone $7. The burger was well prepared and the foie cooked properly, but the bun, which needs to work to tie the sandwich together...was so saturated upon arrival I took a few bites and decided I would get it to go so I could place it on a roll myself to make it edible. Overall, nice atmosphere, great drink selections, average apps and below average to average burger, much better selections at much lower prices elsewhere in the city and its surroundings. Recently had a much tastier sandwich at alison in fort washington, as well as pub webb on temple's campus. The name behind the grill did not deliver this time, not worth a return trip.
