Best Restaurant in Town
Yakitori Boy is by far the best restaurant in Philadelphia especially for those who want to have parties. This restaurant has a sophisticated set up with the restaurant being on the first floor while the karaoke bar and lounge are on the second floor. What really sold me on throwing my party there was that Yakitori Boy has private karaoke rooms that can fit anywhere between 6 to 30 people. I made a reservation for my girlfriend’s surprise birthday party and I have to say I’m glad I did. The food and the service were exceptional from beginning to end. There was not one moment during the night where are sake glasses stayed empty for more than a few minutes because a waiter constantly came by to refill them. We ordered the lily and cherry sushi platters for our twelve person party which was the best sushi I ever tasted. We all ordered entrees which came out pretty quickly considering that there were twelve people. The karaoke selection had a diverse selection of classics from our childhood that we could not just pick a few. The only downside to this experience was that the place closes at 2a.m. For anyone who’s looking for a place to throw birth parties, anniversary dinners, or just a get together with some friends, Yakitori Boy is the ideal place to do it. My girlfriend and her friends loved the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. Just make sure that you call ahead of time and make reservations so everything will be perfect.

Just go...
This place is phenomenal. If you've never been, please go and check it out. That's all. Don't expect to leave sober though.

Authentic eats
I lived in Japan for a couple of years before moving to Philly. Several of my Japanese friends agree- Yakitori Boy's food tastes like home. The quail eggs wrapped in bacon are absolutely delicious and a great price. The chicken katsu is perfectly done- not too greasy and served with the right sauce, slice of lemon and cabbage. The tempura udon was also a treat. Grilled squid was yummy too. I haven't tried the sushi yet because I've been so enamored with the Japanese food that doesn't usually make its way onto American menus. The soft drinks are pretty small and kind of expensive. The beer selection is slim- just Hoegaarden and the three big Japanese beers: Kirin, Sapporo, and Asahi. But the karaoke makes up for it :) The service was okay- our Chinese server didn't understand English as well as we would have liked. But other than some ordering confusion, everything else was fine. Food came out quick and our water was refilled often. Highly recommended.

I have gone several times now and always on Thursday & I have always experienced pure joy! The staff is friendly, the food is great & reasonably price and the karioke bar is pure fun. If you need to smile, you need to experience Yakitori Karioke bar.
