Sadly, Yonny passed away in 2009. His life partner tried giving it a go for two years or so afterwards but did not have a head for business and things went downhill. Apparently recognizing this he rented the restaurant to Jack, who had decent enough food but had no personality for dealing with customers or the public and the place was always empty. He folded after only about a year. I passed by the other day and the place is now boarded up and shuttered. It seems Yonny's Restaurant has also passed away. Such a pity. The food was great when Yonny was there, and he was a very likeable person.

Yonny's is a delicious small restaurant. They have great prices and usually always have a deal like a sandwich, chips, and soda for 7.50! I personally believe that this is great price, and you will agree too when you see their sandwiches. Every single sandwich I have had their has been packed so much with meat that I usually have to take it home. I highly recommend that everyone and anyone should try it.

Yonny passed many years ago and the store sadly went greatly down hill. The food was poor and mad sloppy. Now under new ownership the food is terrific! They make fresh hamburgers great salads and amazing cheese steaks. If you have stopped coming to yonnys because of the poor food. I think you should come try it again!

Dining alone can be unpleasant and it's nice when it goes smoothly. Not so in this case. At Yonny's I was directed by one employee to sit wherever I liked only to sit and wait and wait and wait for someone to acknowledge my existence. When the waitress did appear it was to sit and chat with a regular customer who had arrived long after me. I finally caught her attention and rather than apologize for the long wait, she requested (not discreetly) that I get up (laptop, backpack and all) and sit at a smaller table (BTW the place was nearly empty, it was Saturday, and past the lunch rush) I was polite but decided that I wouldn't be able to enjoy a meal after this.

I go to Philly every now and then as I work for the airline, and I'll go to Yonny's every time for breakfast - It aint china service, but you get loads of good food, juice and coffee, and the atmosphere is great - friendly, easy - you can either have a chat, or just read the paper. Sadly, won't be going there anymore cos I wont be flying to PHL for a while.

Yonny's is a mainstay of the area with lots of regulars, including me. The staff is efficient and friendly, and the food is always good. Hamburgers are not frozen, always made with fresh meat. And they always have some excellent specials. There's nothing fancy about Yonny's menu, but everything is prepared with care. I usually get the Greek salad and Yonny never disappoints. It's huge! Buried amid the fresh, green romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and huge hunks of feta cheese are several stuffed grape leaves, a sliced egg, artichoke hearts, and you can get anchovies, if you desire. It's the best Greek salad in the city, I think.
