Been there three times since the opening a few weeks ago. They are still working a few bugs out, so be patient. The food is fantastic and modestly priced - like nothing else in Philadelphia. Contemporary Israeli with influences from North Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. The menu has something for everyone, interesting "salads," creative small plates, and wonderful skewers of poultry, meats, and fish cooked over a charcoal fire. Deserts are also a treat. The decor in the main dining room is evocative of an Israeli tavern, light stone, colorful lighting, and creative touches everywhere. The Quarter, Zahav's fine dining restaurant-within-a-restaurant, will be opening in a few weeks. This looks like it will be an intimate space, rich in atmosphere with colorful fabrics, a custom designed fountain, and copper topped tables, in which to enjoy a chef's tasting menu from Michael Solomonov, one of the top young chefs in the country.

My fiance and I went there for dinner on Saturday night with another couple. It was outstanding. The restaurant is gorgeous! The food is wonderful. The service is really outstanding. It was one of the best paced meals out we have had in a long time. We never felt like we where being rushed out, there was always food on the table and we enjoyed a very relaxing and delicious three hour dinner. We all got the Mesibah tasting menu. My fiance and I are both vegetarians and they where so accommodating to make changes to their suggested items. I cannot say enough good things. This is a great addition to the Philadelphia restaurant scene and I really wish them well!
