Not worth it!
Was recently on a day trip in Philly and heard rave reviews about this place. We had the 7-course tasting menu, and I was still hungry after leaving. Not to mention, we didn't even get a steak dish, it was chicken! Also, the sushi was only OK, I wouldn't return here, as I can get better food for a much better price here in Lancaster.

Trans-Siberian Smooches
Absolutely phenomenal. The spicy scallop/cucumber roll & crunchy spicy tuna roll are top of the world good. Service is professional and with a big smile. Decor warming and artistic... Highly recommend to go with someone you love.

Great Food and Great Decor
Went to the new location for the first time last week and i was very impressed. Great decor, perfect lighting, very romantic and trendy place. 4X s the space then the old location with a second floor that over sees the lounge area. Was listening to an assortment of music (classy jazz and ambient lounge) that set the mood just right. (didnt have to listen to that old boring asian music that all the other places play) Zento is still BYOB but also now offers a full bar with a cocktail and sake menu. The sake list is very extensive. Tried the Asian Pear and the Nigori Sake and was impressed with them both. Was even more impressed with the cocktails my friends had tried. The Geisha Girl, Peach Infused, Sake, The Last Samurai were all excellent as well. The Grape One was good but I liked the other ones better. The Sushi was by far the freshest I ever tasted. Every roll we shared was fresh, tasty, and worth every penny spent. The staff was very friendly and provided quick, prompt service. Def will be back!!

great place
A really good Japanese restaurant, some things are a bit pricey but you can get an excellent meal for a reasonable price. Really good rice rolls, everything's really good, and excellent, friendly staff.

Bad news for Zento lovers...
Zento used to be not only one of my favorite sushi places in Philly, but one of my favorite sushi places period! I went last week, and it had moved from it's old location to a few doors down. It's no longer BYOB, there is a bar and a $5 corking fee if you bring your own. The prices are much higher than they used to be, for much smaller and less impressive rolls. The menu in general has changed and the food itself is not good as it used to be. I'm assuming its under new ownership. Not to mention that the service was terrible. The inside is much more modern and fancy now as opposed to the original "hole in the wall" type atmosphere. I was so disappointed that everything was different and I don't plan on going back. Need a new sushi place, unfortunately.

Best Japanese in city!
My friend and i luckily walked into this secret gem. Morimoto/Nobu quality at a third of the price. Not only is the sushi incredible at a reasonable price, the miso marinated sea bass was out of this world. High reccomended, but better have a reservation if you want a table after 6pm on weekend.

Lunch
The best sushi I've ever had! We stopped in for lunch during Restraunt week and went back three more times since! Their sushi rolls are delicious and prices are good. They even customized our order without a problem. Highly recommend Zento
