Happy Hour here is Monday through Saturday -- yes, six days a week -- from 4:30P to 6:30P. They also have a regular prix fixe (appetizer, entree, dessert) for $35. For August, the prix fixe is $30. Such a deal! While I always enjoy the food here, I know what I like. I do not eat Tex-Mex. This is authentic Mexican. The spices are complex, not always hot. So far none of the appetizers has disappointed, the ceviche, however, is outstanding. And I am hooked on their mole sauce -- either on chicken or chicken enchiladas. The corn cheesecake is an truly unusual dessert that even impressed my niece the food snob.

I went here with a large group and they had reservation issues. Although we made reservations over a week in advance, they forgot to put our name on the list. They seated us anyway because we were the only people there. You have to pay separately for chips and salsa (I guess you're supposed to eat the salsa by itself or something). And the chips were horrifically stale. Definitely not worth the time or money. Such a shame because the restaurant is cute inside. Oh well, I won't go back.

My boyfriend and I went there on a slow night and after being seated at a small table against the wall, we asked if we could move to a larger table. The waitress refused saying she was saving the table "in case" more than two people came in. Considering the place was dead with several empty large tables, I found that quite ironic. The only good things there were the cheese and sangria. They charged $5 for a tiny cup of salsa, which was average at best. The waitress was completely rude and acted like we were bothering her the whole time. The entrees were subpar and ridiculously overpriced.

We went to Zocalo's last Saturday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I should have known better when we came (3 of us) to the restaurant and we were the only ones there! Ok so we get seated and the drink order is taken. The waiter brought some chips without salsa. We asked for it and she said there was a charge for salsa. Charged for salsa? We should have left at that moment but it was really cold out and I didn’t want to make a scene with my friends. My margarita arrived and to my surprise the glass was 1/2 full, I asked the waiter about this and she said that is how they served them..... Uhmmm 2nd warning! Our meal arrived, nothing special to mentioned, no specific taste or smells. We order some hot salsa to see if we could bring the taste a bit more authentic and to our surprise (or maybe not at this point) we were presented with a bottle of Tabasco sauce..... Please, do not insult my senses this way. Even if it is bottle sauce, please put it in another container.

The deck on this place is great!!! So cute. And the inside is cute as well. I just loved it. Great guacamole and salsa. My meal was just okay - but I will definitely go back for drinks and apps on the patio.

the house sangria is unusual and delicious, made with strawberries that are marinated in tequila, then added to a white wine mixture. Seviche was very fresh & good. Chile relanos was a bit bland & underwhelmingmaybe not their best dish. good service and very nice atmosphere.

I went here for the University City dining days and for $25 got more food than i could ever eat! I had a ginger margartia which was strong and delicious, nachoes, enchiladas and a puff pastry chocolate ice cream dish. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I definitely will go here again!
